Christian Mindfulness Books

Two books on a wooden surface near a window, with a green plant nearby. The book on the left has a yellow cover with a daisy flower and is titled 'The Mindful Christian' by Dr. Irene Kraegel. The book on the right has a dark, colorful cover titled 'A Mindful Moment: 5-Minute Meditations and Devotions' by Irene Kraegel.

Are you interested in how (or if) mindfulness can be used by Christians?

I’ve written two books with the goal of equipping you to learn mindfulness meditation as a practice integrated with Christian faith.

  • The Mindful Christian: Cultivating a Life of Intentionality, Openness, & Faith(Broadleaf Books, 2020) provides an overview of mindfulness principles, practices, and Christian integration. Readers gain a solid framework combined with practical guidelines to implement Christian mindfulness practices on their own.

  • A Mindful Moment: 5-Minute Meditations & Devotions (Zonderkidz, 2022) is written with teens in mind but also appropriate for adults. Each of the 150 devotional reflections are paired with a Scripture verse and a mindfulness meditation practice.

Both books present mindfulness in the style of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Both blend understanding with practical steps, exploring the art of mindfulness as a practice of staying present to God.
